Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 155

June 4;    Revelation 22:16;    155/260(II);    ‘The Bright & Morning Star’

Revelation 22:16 "I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star."

The Lord Jesus has shared all of Revelation with the Apostle John to share with the churches.  As we said when we first began to look at the Book of Revelation, it is the revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Jesus is Lord.  In spite of the persecution and extreme difficulties the tribulation brings, Jesus is in control and Jesus is the ultimate Victor.  The Lord Jesus is the Offspring of David, the promised King of the lineage of David, whose kingdom will be established forever.  Jesus is also the Creator of David.  As the Bright and Morning Star, the Lord Jesus is the dawn of the new and eternal day.  The Lord Jesus is likened to the Morning Star more with reference to its beauty than its light. The morning star heralds a new day.  Here the Lord Jesus is heralding a new forever.  If you are a believer, we will be with the Lord Jesus and God the Father forever. An unimaginable eternity with our Redeemer and Heavenly Father.  I believe the Lord Jesus also heralds a new day for us when we become Born Again.  The world without Jesus is full of darkness and despair. The Lord Jesus, when we ask Him to be our Lord and Savior deposits the life of God into our spirit.  Life the way the Lord created it to be.  His love, His character (the fruit of the Spirit), the Holy Spirit coming into our spirit and the Holy Spirit empowering us to do the work of the ministry. Surely being Born Again opens our eyes to see the Bright and Morning Star.  Thank You Jesus.
