May 11;    2 John 2;    131/260(II);    ‘The Eternal Truth’ 

2 John 2 because of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever:

 God’s Word is truth.  The Word of God establishes the parameters for our lives.  The Word teaches us about the love of God that is deposited into our spirit by the Holy Spirit when we become Born Again.  John tells us in verse 1 that he loves the lady he is writing to and her children based on the love of God that is in him.  Once we see in the Word of God what has been given to us, we can make the decision to live our lives based on the information the Word yields.  God’s Word teaches us all about the love of God, what it is and the command of the Lord that we treat everyone based on His love in us.  Since we love the Lord Jesus and He commands us to love others as He has loved us, out of love and respect for Jesus, we can purpose in our heart to treat others with the love of God.  The love of God always makes a powerful impression on others and is an excellent way for others to experience Jesus through us.  God’s Word is eternal and never changes.  We can and as Christians should build our lives on the principles taught in the Word of God.  Since the Word never changes, the timeless truths are always available to help you and bless you.  The key is to be diligent to spend quality time in the Word of God so that you can know the Lord intimately and also know everything that is legally yours based on the redemptive work of Jesus on our behalf.  You can choose to spend quality time in the Word so that the Word abides in you.  God’s eternal Word will help you, protect you, heal you and bless you.  It is all in the Word.  Decide now to make the Word a vital priority of your life.
