Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 123

May 3;    2 Peter 1:21;    123/260(II);    ‘Holy Spirit Authorship’

2 Peter 1:21….Because it's not something concocted in the human heart. Prophecy resulted when the Holy Spirit prompted men and women to speak God's Word.    Message Bible

This verse is talking about the Word of God and who wrote it.  The answer has to be the Holy Spirit.  If only men wrote the Bible, it would not be God’s Word, nor would we be able to trust what it said.  Those who do not know the Lord want us to believe that men wrote the Bible, so that they can refute what the Bible says.  The unsaved are always saying the Word of God is full of contradictions, but they can never prove this, because there are no contradictions in the Bible.  Think of the genius of God.  My facts may be a little off, but they will be close.  40 men were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write the Books, over a period of 1,500 years.  If someone is sincere and really wants to know if the Word was written by the Holy Spirit, investigation and a little effort always results in the investigator acknowledging that the authorship of the Bible is divine.  The irrefutable proof of how we know that the Word of God was authored by the Holy Spirit is the millions of changed lives the Bible produces when a person believes what it says and asks the Lord Jesus to come into their heart.  Billions of dollars are spent by sincere people trying to find something that will help them deal with the myriad of issues life brings.  There may be temporary help and relief, but at a certain point all human remedies come up short.  When those same people begins to read the Word of God, attend a local church and talks to Christians, they are on their way to freedom.  Almighty God created us, loves us and sent Jesus to ‘fix us’.  Jesus did and when we believe the Word is divinely authored our life will change.
