Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 110
Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 110
April 20; Hebrews 11:3; 110/260(II); The Worlds Were Framed’
Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
The creative power of the Lord is in His mouth. The Lord Jesus, who created everything, did this by speaking what He wanted, and it became. ‘By faith’ has two meanings. The Lord Jesus used His faith to believe that everything He said would come to pass. We use our faith to believe that this is how everything was created. The word ‘framed’ means to perfectly fit together. When the Lord Jesus spoke what He wanted, His words had the creative power to make what He wanted exactly the way He wanted to make it. Notice that the Lord Jesus created something from nothing. Nothing existed until the Lord Jesus spoke it into existence. This verse is very important since it teaches us how creation came about. That is not the only reason this verse is in the Bible. This verse is a ‘blueprint’ for us. We are made in the image of God. He is a Spirit and so are we. Our words, since we are made in His image, have great power. Here are some very important things to know about our words, what we say. Proverbs 18:21 tells us that death and life are in the power of the tongue. The Lord Jesus when He created everything, spoke what He wanted, not what He did not want. We literally bless or curse ourselves based on what we say. Just like Jesus, our words frame our life. We can say what the Bible says and be blessed or we can speak negatively, as the world does, and curse ourselves. What we see in our lives, is created by what we say. “I cannot, I am not able, I am sick, I am going to lose my job,” etc. all create what you will have. “I can do all things through Christ” will also frame your life. Do this.
