Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 10

January 10;   Acts 26:19;   10/260(II);   ‘Run Your Race’

Acts 26:19 "Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,

Paul, was a prisoner in Caesarea.  King Agrippa and his wife Bernice had come to Caesarea to be with Festus and was told about Paul.  Agrippa told Festus that he would like to hear Paul.  This was arranged and King Agrippa, his wife Bernice, the Roman commander and other prominent men of the city were in an auditorium, and Paul was brought in.  Paul shared with them his testimony of being a zealous religious man, determined to persecute Christians.  Paul continued sharing, telling them how on his way to Damascus, to arrest Christians, a blinding light came from the sky, knocking Paul (then Saul) and his companions to the ground.  Jesus told Paul who He was and asked why Paul was persecuting him.  Remember when you persecute a Christian, you persecute Jesus, and He is well able to help you.  Jesus tells Paul that Paul will be a minister to the Gentiles, leading them to Jesus, the very One he had been so vehemently against.  Jesus tells Paul that he will be a witness to what Paul already knows about Christianity and what the Lord will teach him.  Most of the epistles, or the letters in the New Testament, were written by Paul, as the Holy Spirit ‘dictated’ them to him.  Paul tells King Agrippa that he has been faithful to do what the Lord Jesus confronted him about.  Paul, when Jesus had confronted him and turned him in the right direction, faithfully did everything Jesus called him to do.  We have the privilege, just like Paul, to turn the lives of people towards Jesus.  It is the greatest honor anyone could have.  Seek the Lord’s leading, and tell Him you will, like Paul, be faithful to the call,
