Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 25
January 25; I Corinthians 15:22; 148/260(II); ‘Adam & Jesus’
1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
The Apostle Paul, writing as he was led by the Holy Spirit, is making the comparison between Adam and the Lord Jesus. Adam, the first man, was to work with the Lord and populate the earth with godly people. He was given authority on the earth and was not going to die. When Adam sinned against the Lord, all of that changed. The earth was cursed. Poverty, sickness and death, both physical and spiritual entered. It is vital that Christians know and tell others who do not know, that God did not curse the earth, nor is He responsible for the incredible pain and suffering we see all over the earth. When Adam sinned, the authority that God gave him to have dominion on the earth, he handed over to satan. The devil is the author of the tragedy and heartache we see in this world. Since Adam represented humanity, the entire human race was cursed. Everyone once they reach the age of accountability, their spirit is separated from the Lord, by that sin nature we received from Adam. God the Father loved us too much to allow us to be forever separated from Him. The Lord Jesus is called the last Adam in I Corinthians 15:45. Jesus came and led a sinless life, being eligible for all of the blessings Deuteronomy 28 tells us that will be ours if we do not sin. Our Lord and Savior did not take the blessings, the Bible teaches that the Lord Jesus willingly went to the cross and took upon Himself our sins and sicknesses. He became the curse Adam brought upon us. Jesus went to hell, paid the price for humanity, rose from the dead, took back authority, giving it to His church. Jesus is the Lord.
