November 2020   #39 Just Like Jesus

We have been made in the image of God
Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

We were created to work together with the Lord
Genesis 2:19 Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name.

A disciple is to be like His Teacher and a servant like his Master
Matthew 10:25 It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master……

We have creative power in our words just as Jesus did
Mark 11:23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

Jesus is our Example
John 13:15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.  v16 Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him.  v17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

We are to love each other as He loved us
John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.  v35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

The works Jesus did we will do and greater works
John 14:12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father

We have been given the Name of Jesus to use in prayer and ministry
John 16:23 "And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.  v24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

As the Father sent Jesus, Jesus sends us
John 17:18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.

The Father loves us as much as He loves Jesus
John 17:23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

The Holy Spirit comes upon us to empower us for ministry, exactly the way the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus to empower Him for ministry
Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

The love of God has been put into our spirit by the Holy Spirit
Romans 5:5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

The character of Jesus, which is the fruit of the Spirit have been given to us
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, v23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

We are to forgive as He forgave us
Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

We are spirit beings just like Jesus
1 Thessalonians 5:23…..may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are to be holy because He is holy
1 Peter 1:15 but as He who called you is holy , you also be holy in all your conduct,

The Lord Jesus suffered for us and there will be times we too will suffer as Christians
1 Peter 2:20…..But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. v21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:

Jesus laid down His life for us, we ought to lay down our lives for fellow Christians
1 John 3:16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
