The Salvation of the Lost

One of the first things we are instructed to pray for is the salvation of the lost. The Lord Jesus paid the price so that all can be saved. As Christians we must do what we can to see that they all accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Praying for them is one vital way we do this. These verses will help you to pray for their salvation

February 2018  #14 The Salvation of the Lost

Ask the Lord in prayer for the salvation of the people of the nations
Psalm 2:8 Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.

As Christians we are to share the Word and warn them of eternity without Jesus
Ezekiel 33:3 when he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, v4 then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head. v5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life. v6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand.'

The Lord has no pleasure in the death of the wicked
Ezekiel 33:11 Say to them: 'As I live,' says the Lord GOD,'I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?'

Isaiah saw the Lord and desired nothing more than to share His Word with others
Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: "Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?"  Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."

Pray for laborers to be sent into the Lord’s harvest field
Matthew 9:37 Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.  v38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."

Jesus gave us His authority and told us to share the Word and make disciples
Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  v19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  v20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

We must tell them that they need to be Born Again – what an honor
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

God’s love sent Jesus so that we could be saved and spend eternity in heaven
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  v17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Harvest time, the salvation of the lost is always right now
John 4:35 Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest '? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!

One of the ministries of the Holy Spirit is to convict the lost of not believing on Jesus
John 16:8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:  v9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me;

Our job is to share with the lost.  Each of us does a part
1 Corinthians 3:6 I planted , Apollos watered, but God gave the increase . 7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.

When we are Born Again we become the Lord’s ministers representing Him
2 Corinthians 5:18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, v20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.

We are to pray for the salvation of the lost
Timothy 2:1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, v4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

The Lord is not willing that any perish and neither are we
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
