Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 94

April 3;   I Corinthians 16:14;   149/260(I);   ‘Do It All in Love’

1 Corinthians 16:14 Let all that you do be done with love.

The identifying characteristic of Christianity is love.  Not human, fickle, love that changes based on the behavior of the ones we love.  Human love says, if you do things that I do not like, after a time, I may no longer love you.  Human love is subject to change.  When we become born again, the love of God is deposited into our spirit by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5).  Only born again Chrstians have God’s love in their spirit.  Human love is based on the character and actions of the one loved.  God’s love is based on God’s character and ours once we become saved, and remains steady regardless of the actions of the one loved.  The love of God, which is in us if we are Born Again, simply says I love you and always will.  God’s love is a commitment. There may be times when I do not love what you do, but that never alters God’s love in me for you.  The Bible teaches that God’s love never fails (I Corinthians 13:8).  God’s love always makes an impression on others.  When we purpose in our heart to walk in God’s love and treat everyone with kindness and respect, it does not take long for others to realize that you are different in a wonderful way.  Our kindness makes it easy for them to believe that we are a Christian.  The love of God is a ‘magnet’ that attracts others to us and then to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the only One who can radically change us and give us the desire to love everyone just as He does. New Christians are often reluctant to share their faith with others.  A very easy way for them to start sharing is simply by treating everyone with the love of God in them.  The lost will see.
