Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 75

March 16;   Romans 14:12;   131/260(I);   ‘Accountable’

Romans 14:12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.

The Lord Jesus Christ paid a high price for our salvation.  He was faithful to do and say everything God the Father told Him to do and say.  Jesus experienced everything that we do and never allowed anything to distract Him from the ministry He came to fulfill.  God the Father watched what the Lord Jesus did, He saw everything.  Imagine the reception of the Father and the angels when Jesus returned to heaven.  We are the Body of Christ.  Once we become a Christian, the Father and the Lord Jesus take note of what we do and say also.  Each of us has a ministry to fulfill.  Jeremiah 1:5 teaches that before each of us was formed in our mother’s womb, the Lord knew us and had specific things for us to accomplish.  Our rewards when we get to heaven are based on our doing what the Lord called each of us to do.  We are never compared with anyone else.  If you do not know what it is, pray and seek the direction of the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:14 tells us the children of God are led by the Spirit of God.  Get involved in church and the Spirit of God will begin to give you direction.  We will give an account to the Lord in heaven when we stand before Him.  He wants to tell each of us, “well done My good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:23, 21).  Why would we become Born Again and  not desire to do our share to see others saved?  I believe this verse is talking about our conduct as well.  Knowing we are accountable and that ‘heaven watches,’ it makes great sense to live in a biblical manner.  The Lord watches so that He can bless you.  That is always His desire.  Let it be our desire as well.
