Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 7

January 7;   Luke 18:39;   62/260(VI);   ‘Never Give Up’

Luke 18:39 Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"

Jesus was nearing Jericho, when a blind man sitting by the roadside began to cry out to the Lord to have mercy on him.  His cries for mercy must have annoyed the multitude, so they basically told him to shut up.  But this man had a need and he would not shut up.  Each one of us have different needs in our lives.  The blind man was determined to ask Jesus for help.  What a wonderful example that is for each of us.  Regardless of what your need might be, there is one answer, Jesus Christ.  He would not shut up, he cried out all the more for Jesus to have mercy on him.  The blind man’s persistence caused Jesus to stop and heal him.  The blind man must have heard that Jesus healed or why would he cry out for mercy.  Read God’s Word.  Find out what belongs to you and then, by faith, thank the Lord that He is merciful and that since His Word is true, you believe that your need has been met.  Then stand, thanking the Lord for the answer until it manifests.  A minister at the healing school in the Bible School I attended said that his experience over the years has been that those in need of healing often are not persistent as they stand for their healing.  They quit standing and declaring what is rightfully theirs.  We must not allow that to be us.  You are loved by the Lord and healing is for you.  Never quit, he devil will do all he can to discourage you.  If you refuse to give up and stand on the Word of God, your healing will manifest.
