Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 62

March 2;   Acts 28:24;   117/260(I);   ‘Yes & No’

Acts 28:24 And some were persuaded by the things which were spoken, and some disbelieved.

Paul and the ship’s crew were shipwrecked on the island of Malta.  The people of that island were incredibly courteous and Paul ministered healing to many of them.  After three months they sailed to Rome in a vessel that had spent the winter in Malta.  When they came to Rome, the Centurion allowed Paul to live by himself with a Roman guard.  Not one to do nothing, Paul called for the leaders of the Jews.  The Jews were interested in hearing Paul concerning the Lord Jesus.  The things Paul shared caused some to believe on Jesus and some not to.  That is the simple truth.  Not everyone will believe and get saved when you share the gospel.  Praise the Lord for the ones who do believe, that means everything to a Christian ministering to others.  The ones who did not believe will have another day.  The Word of God never returns void (Isaiah 55:11), but always makes an impression on the mind and spirit of who hear it.  The next time they hear God’s Word, they may believe, or the time after that.  The founder of the Bible School we attended, Rev. Kenneth Hagin always encouraged the students to ‘help the ones you can.’  Our job is not to convert them.  The Holy Spirit convicts them that the Word is true.  Our job is to share with them.  What an example the Apostle Paul was.  In spite of persecution and danger virtually everywhere Paul went, nothing stopped him from fulfilling the ministry that the Lord Jesus gave to him.  Paul did that everywhere and it is my prayer that all of us will do the same.  Continuing the ministry of the Lord Jesus is the greatest honor we could ever have.
