Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 61

March 1;   Acts 27:25;   116/260(I);   ‘I Believe God’

Acts 27:25 Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.

Paul was on his way to Rome by ship.  He was led by the Holy Spirit to tell the Centurion guarding him that the voyage would catastrophic.  The Centurion was more convinced by the ship’s owner to continue on and so they did.  A very strong head wind began to drive the ship and they had to let it drive them.  They did everything they could to keep the ship and the crew safe, but after many days, they gave up, thinking they all would die.  Paul the prisoner, had a visitation from an angel who told him that everyone on the ship would be saved, but that the ship would be destroyed.  He stood up and told this to the crew and said, “I believe God that it will be just as it was told to me.”  Paul became the ‘captain’ of the ship and everyone began to follow his instructions.  No one had eaten for many days and Paul encouraged them to eat by eating in front of them.  They took heart and ate as well.  The Lord saved the crew because of Paul and his faith in his God.  Others are blessed when you are with them because the Lord always blesses and takes care of those who are ‘sold out’ for Him. The ship ran aground on an island and everyone on board made it to shore.  Paul, the Christian, had information no one else had.  How vital that is for us to know.  The Lord will lead us and protect us supernaturally if we purpose in our heart to follow Him closely.  The Bible teaches that the children of God are led by the Spirit of God (Romans 8:14). What an exciting and safe way to live.  There are all kinds of books and information on protecting yourself.  There is value in them.  Walking close to Jesus is the safest.
