Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 32

February 1;   John 19:26;   87/260(I);   ‘Universal & Personal’

John 19:26 When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, "Woman, behold your son!"

The Lord Jesus was hanging on the cross.  Battered and brutalized, barely recognizable as a human being, dying for the sins and sicknesses of all humanity.  While on the cross, suffering in a manner that no one can comprehend, He saw His mother standing by the cross.  She dearly loved Jesus and He her.  How much she understood about what He came to do, we do not know.  What we do know is what the Bible teaches.  Jesus saw His mother and the Apostle John and told John to take care of His mother, which John did.  God’s love cares for everyone universally.  God’s love cares for everyone individually as well.  What a wonderful teaching this is.  The Lord knows each of us intimately and desires to be with us in the good times and in the challenging times as well.  There may be times when you feel like you are all alone and that no one cares.  Jesus always loves, cares and knows everything you go through.  The Bible teaches that the Lord Jesus is in heaven now, at the right hand of the Father.  What is He doing?  One of the primary things the Lord Jesus is doing is praying for each of us.  Think of the eternal redemption He bought for humanity and as if that were not enough, Jesus continues His love and care for us by actively praying for us.  If you choose to have close fellowship with the Lord, you will never feel lonely and your faith to face anything will soar.  As His love saw to it that His mother was cared for, the Lord Jesus, by His love will help you and see you through whatever circumstances you face.  What a Savior.
