Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 295

October 21;   John 12:11;   80/260(II);   ‘Your Testimony’s Powerful’

John 12:11 because on account of him (Lazarus) many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus.

Jesus was in Bethany, the home of Lazarus and his sisters Martha and Mary.  Martha made supper, to honor Jesus and Lazarus, who Jesus raised from the dead, was there.  Many Jews came to the home when they knew Jesus was there.  They also came because they knew that Lazarus was there and they wanted to see him, the man Jesus raised from the dead.  Lazarus must have shared his testimony about being raised from the dead and this verse tells us that because of Lazarus, many Jews believed on Jesus.  Miracles are the greatest evangelistic tool that there is. Heartfelt, sincere testimonies are very powerful.  As you tell others, what Jesus Christ has done for you, the words you speak, anointed by the Holy Spirit, opens the hearts of the listeners to the things of God.  Your testimony is especially powerful if people knew you the way you were before the Lord Jesus touched you.  The madman of Gadera, was demon possessed and no one could bind him.  He lived in the tombs and when Jesus confronted him, Jesus cast out the demons and the man was restored to his right mind.  The man wanted to go with Jesus, but Jesus told him to return to his home and tell everyone in the city he lived in, what Jesus had done for him.  This man, miraculously set free by Jesus shared his testimony with everyone he could.  No one could argue with him, because they knew how he was and they saw how Jesus changed him.  It could be healing, it could be a healed relationship, it could be freedom from anxiety, anger, poverty, etc.  Regardless of what your testimony is, tell others, they desperately need to know.
