Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 294

October 20;   John 11:40;   79/260(II);   ‘Believe, See His Glory’

John 11:40 Jesus said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?"

What an incredibly exciting statement.  It’s so wonderful when a person gets Born Again. That is the beginning of their relationship with the Lord.  As that person reads the Bible, they begin to see that the things of God are so much more than they ever thought.  Hopefully they are introduced to a church that believes in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, healing. miracles, signs and wonders.  As time goes on, learning that Jesus ministered as a Man, empowered by the Holy Spirit, so that we could continue His ministry, when He returned to heaven, begins to excite them.  What a thrill to know that life was created by the Lord to be a marvelous adventure, better than anything the world that does not know Jesus offers.  All of this is made a reality by faith.  Jesus’ good friend Lazarus has died.  The Lord Jesus goes to raise him from the dead.  The Lord Jesus tells the people at the grave sight and us, that if we believe, have faith, we will see God’s glory, His manifested power.  Jesus did raise Lazarus from the dead.  Normal Christianity is people being healed, overwhelming circumstances changed by God’s grace and mercy, even people being raised from the dead.  Faith is what causes all of this to become a reality.  That faith to believe the Lord for the miraculous comes from our diligence to spend time reading the Word of God.  As your spirit feeds on scriptures talking about God’s manifested power, those verses begin to make an impact on your spirit.  When you step out to pray for someone and the Lord answers that prayer, your faith grows.  Faith grows until you believe and see the glory of God.
