Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 285

October 11;   John 3:17;   71/260(II);   ‘No Condemnation’

John 3:17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

The Lord Jesus has just told us that God the Father loves the world, that means humanity, every one of us who ever was, is and ever will be.  Jesus then tells us that the Father sent Him so that people would believe that He is God’s Son.  When they do that they will be given everlasting life.  That means when we die physically, our spirit will immediately go to heaven and be in the presence of the Lord Jesus.  It also means that eternal life, life the way God intended us to live, starts here on earth, the moment we are Born Again.  Every blessing the Bible teaches, legally belongs to us when we give our lives to Jesus.  This verse teaches that Jesus came to save us and not condemn us.  Erroneous religious teaching tells us that God condemns us for the sins and the way we have lived our lives.  That is not biblical.  The Lord is a blesser and not a condemner.  The devil tempts us to sin, he tries to deceive us into thinking that sin is exciting and fulfilling.  Once we do sin, satan then condemns us for what we have done, telling us it is the Lord condemning us.  If we don’t know the Word, we believe his lie.  Jesus does not want us to sin, because sin will hurt us badly.  The Lord does not punish us, sin does and that is why He does not want us to sin.  Since Jesus did not come to condemn us, what did He come to do?  Jesus came to save us.  Saved means forgiveness of sins, healing and health, wholeness and prosperity.  Eternal life forever, a blessed life now, forgiveness, health, wholeness all through Jesus.
