Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 251

September 7;   Mark 11:22;   39/260(II);   ‘The Faith of God’

Mark 11:22 So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God.

Jesus and the disciples were leaving Bethany.  The Lord was hungry and seeing a fig tree He went over to the tree looking for figs.  There were no figs on the tree and Jesus ‘cursed’ it.  The Lord Jesus then came to Jerusalem and drove out those who bought and sold in the temple and He overturned the tables of the money changers.  This just added to the hatred the religious leaders had for Jesus and they sought His death.  The next morning, they passed the fig tree that Jesus cursed the day before.  They saw that the fig tree had dried up from the roots.  Peter commented about this and Jesus said, “Have faith in God.”  In the original Greek, Jesus really said, “Have the faith of God.”  What an incredible statement.  Could we actually have the faith of God?  Not only can we, but to be the effective ministers we were created to be, we must have that powerful faith.  God is Spirit and we too are spirit beings.  The ‘God kind of faith’ has been deposited into our spirit by the Holy Spirit.  That faith can grow into an incredibly powerful force that will bless you and others.  Our faith is a receiver of all of the blessings that exist in the spiritual realm.  Our faith brings those blessings from the spiritual realm into the natural realm.  Spend quality time reading the Word.  Fellowship with the Lord in prayer, getting to know Him.  Every time the Lord answers a prayer or you step out in faith to minister, journal these things to strengthen your faith.  The Lord Jesus knew when He prayed that His Father heard Him and would answer His prayers.  Decide you won’t settle for less, do what you have to, be like Jesus.
