August 29;   Mark 2:1;   30/260(II);   ‘Go Where He Is’

Mark 2:1 And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house

As the ministry of Jesus began to progress, everyone heard about the incredible messages the Lord was preaching concerning the Heavenly Father.  They were also hearing that Jesus healed the sick wherever He went.  Once that happened, the multitudes came to Him.  They wanted to be where He was, to hear the Word spoken with such authority and be healed of any and every sickness and disease.  You might say, if only I was alive then to see Jesus and receive from His ministry.  The Lord Jesus is no longer with us on the earth, but His ministry and blessings continue through us, the Church.  The Word is still preached with great authority and sicknesses and diseases are still healed by the power of the Holy Spirit through us, the Church.  Let me say this sincerely and kindly, no judgementalism.  Not all churches believe that the Lord Jesus still heals today.  Some churches do not even teach that you must be Born Again.  Since we all need to be Born Again, because the Bible teaches that.  Since we all can be healed, today, since the Bible teaches that.  Why would you ever want to go somewhere when Jesus is not there with every aspect of His ministry still functioning as if He never left?  The Lord Jesus is alive and well, living in the spirit of every Christian and empowering every Christian who is baptized in the Holy Spirit so that we can continue Jesus’ ministry.  In John 17:18, the Lord Jesus tells us that He sends us to minister as the Father sent Him.  We have His Word, love, the fruit of the Spirit, the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and His commission ‘to be Him.’  Imagine that.
