Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 236

August 23;   Matthew 24:47;   24/260(II);   ‘Keep On’

Matthew 24:47 I tell you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.      NIV

The Lord Jesus will return in the clouds to call His Church home, to be with Him during the period of time we call the tribulation.  During the tribulation, Jesus will be doing all He can to reach the unsaved Jews and gentiles.  The Church is already saved, the Lord does not have to deal with us and He always gets His people out of harm’s way before it happens.  The Lord got Noah and his family on the ark before the flood came.  He got Lot out before He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.  The Bible teaches that His Church is not appointed to wrath.  It is very clear in the Word, that the only One who knows when the rapture will occur is God the Father.  Jesus Himself does not know.  The Word tells us that we can approximate the timing of the rapture as we look at what is going on, on the earth.   Unfortunately, over the years, many have erroneously predicted when the rapture would occur.  Many Christians, believing this, have literally gone to the hills to wait for Jesus’ return.  They have done other things as well, that I will not mention here.  What this verse is saying, is since we do not know when Jesus will return, keep doing His work every day, doing all that you can to reach as many as you can.  Know that Jesus is coming back, but minister as if He isn’t.  Multitudes will be saved during the tribulation, but it still will be a time of tremendous persecution.  Let the Lord Jesus find all of us living in a Christ like manor, sharing the gospel and praying for everyone we can.  Your diligence here to do the Lord’s work will pay off eternally as He rewards your faithfulness.  His work is an honor.
