August 16;   Matthew 18:11;   18/260(II);   ‘Single Minded’

Matthew 18:11 For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost. 

The ‘Son of Man’ was the Name the Lord Jesus called Himself, the most, in the gospels.  When He came to earth, He identified Himself with us by using this Name.  Now that the Lord Jesus is in heaven, He wants us to identify with what He came to do, that is save those who are not yet Born Again.  Regardless of our natural relationships, our career and our interests, Jesus expects us to be diligent to do all we can to influence the lost to come to Him.  It is unthinkable for us to know that those who do not know Jesus, will be eternally separated from Him, and do nothing to endeavor to reach them with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.  The Bible teaches in Ephesians 4 that the local church is called by the Lord to equip you to minister and to build you up in the things of God so that you know how to reach them.  The Word of God taught in church, clearly reveals God’s love for you and His provisions for you.  This should cause us to desire to share this life changing message with others.  The local church helps you to know how to lead someone to Jesus, enabling you to confidently lead them to Him.  The local church emphasizes the need to be baptized in the Holy Spirit, teaching the incredible empowering of the Holy Spirit to share the gospel and to heal the sick.  All of this and much more is routinely taught in the local church.  The Lord wants you to enjoy life, and through a relationship with Jesus Christ, you can have the best life possible.  He also wants you to spend time, ministering to the lost, what church teaches you.  The devil is committed to destroy lives.  Are we committed and able to save them?
