Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 186

July 8;   Revelation 6:1;   244/260(I);   ‘The Cover Letter’

Revelation 6:1 Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, "Come and see."

John the beloved Apostle, is seeing into the future.  The church age is over and with it the age of grace is over.  The rapture of the church has occurred and the Lord Jesus Christ has rewarded the faithful believers who have obeyed the leading of the Holy Spirit and fulfilled the Lord’s will for their lives.  Every true Christian, regardless of what they did or did not do, while on the earth, are in the presence of the Lord Jesus.  Many Christians, who never endeavored to find the Lord’s will for their lives, or have ignored the will of the Lord, will have little or no rewards.  Their responsibilities during the tribulation period in heaven and during the one thousand year reign of the Lord Jesus on the earth (the Millennium) will be minimal.  After the rapture of the church, the earth will be populated entirely by unsaved people.  The Lord Jesus Christ will be doing all He can to save the Jews and gentiles alike.  His love for them never changes.  As Jesus endeavors to reach the lost, He also will be pouring out wrath on those who will not repent and turn to Him.  The seven seals on the scroll in Jesus’ right hand are an overview, a cover letter so to speak, of the devastation that He will pour out on those who hate Him and will not change.  It is not too late for Jews or gentiles to be saved, but the days of the tribulation, especially the second half of the tribulation will be extremely harrowing.  Chapter six, the scroll and seals are written to teach that the Lord Jesus Christ is ‘calling the shots’ during this incredibly challenging period of time, not satan.  The devil plays a minor role in Revelation.  Jesus Christ is Lord.
