Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 171

June 22;   2 Peter 1:12;   228/260(I);   ‘Over and Over’

2 Peter 1:12 I plan to keep on reminding you of these things — even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth.       NLT

Peter was a Pastor.  As a Pastor, he had the responsibility to teach the congregation the Word of God.  He was to equip the saints for the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:12).  We will never know everything the Bible teaches.  The Book is divine and ‘alive,’ continually giving us new revelation each time we read it and are taught what the scriptures say.  The founder of the Bible School I attended was commanded by the Lord Jesus to ‘teach His people faith.’  This minister taught God’s Word for over 60 years, teaching on faith more than any other subject, and I heard him say several times that every time he taught on faith he learned something new about it.  You cannot exhaust the revelation God’s Word gives.  Additionally, as you grow in your Christianity and mature, you understand more and more what the Word is saying.  Peter would be diligent, as long as he was alive, to faithfully teach the powerful truths of the Word.  Your success in life and your ability to minister to others the truths of the Word are greatly enhanced as you are diligent to get stronger and stronger in the scriptures.  As you put the Word in your spirit and renew your mind with the Word, your ability to help yourself and others increases.  The Holy Spirit was sent to help us and if there is a strong foundation of the Word in your spirit, the Holy Spirit can and will remind you of verses, that will bless you and others, at just the time needed.  You cannot know God’s Word too much.  It was divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit and its revelation knowledge offered to us is endless.  Thank the Lord for His precious, holy, written Word.
