Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 165

June 16;   James 5:15;   222/260(I);   ‘The Prayer of Faith’

James 5:15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

There are several ways to be healed taught in the Bible.  This is one of them.  Verse 14 tells us if you are not feeling well, call for the elders of the church.  They will pray for you, anointing you with oil, in the Name of the Lord Jesus.  You are disqualified from this method of healing if you do not have a home church or if you do not attend it.  The Lord works through authority.  The humility and wisdom to obey v14 will bring the power of the Holy Spirit on the scene (the anointing with oil is a type of the Holy Spirit coming upon someone) and that prayer of faith, prayed by the elders of the church, in the Name of Jesus will bring healing.  The elders of the church, as they minister to the person in need of healing, will encourage them to confess to the Lord and repent of any sins, and they will be immediately forgiven.  Remember, that through the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ your sins have been cleansed and your body has been healed legally.  As a Christian, you must see in God’s Word that it is His will for you to be healthy and healed if you are attacked physically.  Make sure that the church you attend believes in healing and that the church staff actively prays for the sick in this manner.  The elders will pray the prayer of faith.  That means, that when they pray over a person, in the Name of Jesus, anointing that person with oil, the elders believe with all of their heart that the prayer has been heard by the Lord and the healing power of the Holy Spirit has healed the person of whatever affliction they suffer from.  This is Bible.  Believe this and be healed and forgiven.
