Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 149

July 24;   Hebrews 1:2;   205/260(I);   ‘Jesus Speaking’

Hebrews 1:2 But now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he made the universe and everything in it.       NLT

In the Old Testament, the Lord spoke to the Jewish people through prophets.  When, they were given a message for the people, the prophets would say, “Thus saieth the Lord.”  Now in New Testament times, God the Father speaks to us through the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.  The Lord Jesus would say, “it has been said, but I say.”  Everything in the Word of God and life itself revolves around Jesus.  Because of Jesus’ willing sacrifice on our behalf, God the Father made Jesus the Head of the Church.  Everything we, the Church receive, we receive because of what Jesus did.  Philippians 2 teaches that because Jesus left deity in heaven and became a Man.  Because Jesus willingly allowed Himself to be brutalized, humiliated and crucified, God the Father gave Jesus the highest Name in the universe.  Everything, including satan, is subject to Jesus’ Name.  The Bible also tells us that we, the Church, have been given the Name of Jesus to use, so that when we use the Name of Jesus, it is as if it is Jesus Himself who is speaking.  Also John 1:1 tells us Jesus is the Word of God.  The Word of God is Jesus speaking to you. Finally, this verse teaches that the Lord Jesus created everything.  It was Jesus at creation speaking everything into existence.  Hebrews 11:3 tells us that everything was perfectly framed together by the words of Jesus.  Hebrews 1:3 tells us that everything continues and is maintained by the words of Jesus as well.  In essence, the Lord Jesus, is in the center of everything.  The One who loves you and died for you is in charge.  Make Jesus the center of your life.  You’ll be so glad
