Pastor Barry's  Chapter & Verse"  Day 113

April 23;   Ephesians 1:20;   169/260(I);   ‘Seated Far Above’

Ephesians 1:20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,

This verse is part of a prayer that the Apostle Paul is praying for the church of Ephesus and since the prayer is inspired by the Holy Spirit, it is for us as well.  Paul, by the Holy Spirit is praying that we would understand the incredible power that is available to us as Christians.  He is talking about the power of the Holy Spirit.  After the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus, Jesus’ spirit went to hell and He paid the price for all of our sins.  Once the Father in heaven determined that the price for sin had been paid by the Lord Jesus, the Father sent the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit raised the Lord Jesus’s spirit from hell.  The spirit of Jesus was reunited with His body in the tomb.  Jesus’ body was recreated to a heavenly body, able to live in heaven.  The Lord Jesus is now in heaven, seated at the right hand of the Father.  He is far above all demonic powers and principalities.  Jesus defeated satan and his demonic forces, regained the authority Adam surrendered to satan when he sinned and Jesus now sits at the Father’s right hand as the Head of the Church.  The Church is also called the Body of Christ.  Obviously, Jesus and His Body are one.  Legally, the Church is seated with Jesus at the Father’s right hand.  We too are far above demonic powers and principalities.  If you believe that and it is true because the Bible teaches this, your life here on earth will go much better, since you know that the devil and demons are legally under your feet. Victors not victims.  The Bible teaches this so that we would understand who we are in Jesus and live our lives accordingly, with the authority that He has given us.
