Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 109.5

April 19;   Galatians 3:13;   165/260(I);   ‘Redeemed From the Curse’

Galatians 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"),

This verse answers so many questions those who do not know the Bible have.  When those who do not know Jesus see so much suffering, they say if there is a God, why do these things happen.  They often blame Him for the misery all around.  When you know what the Bible teaches, you know that Adam, in the beginning, disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit.  When Adam sinned, the earth was cursed.  Adam cursed the earth, not God.  Poverty, sickness and death, separation from the Lord was the result of the curse.  One of the greatest weapons the devil uses to keep people from getting Born Again, is blaming God for the incredible tragedy all around.  If a person does not know the Word, they often believe the Lord is responsible for all of the suffering.  They also say if God is good then why didn’t He do something about the tragedy and suffering.  God the Father did.  He sent Jesus to redeem us from the curse.  We, as Christians, are in this world, we are not of this cursed world.  We can live above the sickness and poverty.  The devil, satan, was given Adam’s authority on the earth and became the legal god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4) when Adam sinned.   Again, the Lord Jesus came and by His death on the cross and His resurrection, He redeemed us from the curse Adam brought on us.  Redeemed means to purchase and set free.  When we become Born Again, we are no longer under the curse and have a right to live a prosperous and disease free life, with the certainty of going to heaven when we pass on.  People must know these truths, we know them and have the privilege to tell others.
